Discount Dining

Summary

When we’re trying to tighten the purse strings, simple pleasures such as dining out and ordering takeaway are typically the first things we forgo. But for those nights where you just can’t be bothered to tackle the kitchen (or the fridge is looking less than appealing), there’s some great ways you can still enjoy delicious meals without breaking the bank.

EatClubThis free app allows restaurants to post targeted offers when they have spare tables to fill or want extra demand, meaning you get great savings on the total bill (this can be up to 50% off!) at different times of the day. The app is easy to setup and offers are automatically applied when you tap and pay with the digital card.

First TableThis reservations platform offers diners 50% off the food bill when they book the first table at one of their partner restaurants. Available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, diners can select a restaurant, the date they’d like to dine and pay a $10 booking fee to lock in 50% off their bill (for up to four people).

The PassA loyalty program where you can accumulate points, redeem rewards and score exclusive promotions when ordering food and drinks from over 190 participating pubs, bars and restaurants. The Pass is free to download, and with every $1 spent, you earn 10 points. Once you’ve reached 1,000 points, you can redeem a $10 credit.

GrouponGroupon is an online platform that offers discounted deals and coupons for a wide range of products and services. Take a look at the food and drink vouchers which can vary from rooftop experiences with cheese platters and cocktails to eight-course yum cha banquets.

Store Apps and MembershipsIt’s worthwhile checking out popular chain retailers’ apps directly or memberships you’re already part of for exclusive offers e.g., 7 Eleven has both fuel and food discounts, RACQ members can save on fast food and dining out and McDonald’s has a system where you can earn points and redeem rewards.

Treating yourself while being budget-conscious has never been easier with this range of apps and memberships. Take a look at what’s available in your area and see what you can save.
